Cross Culture Surf launched!

As of today 6th February 2012, Cross Culture Surf is officially underway. If you are aged 15-17 and want to take part in the exchange programme, you have until 24th February to check out the programme, fill out the application form and send it in to your local coordinator.

Cross Culture Surf is an exchange programme organised by The Surf Project in Ireland and Zutundu in the Basque Country. The programme is split into two phases:

  • Phase 1 – Lahinch (Ireland) from 7th-14th April.
  • Phase 2 – Zarautz (Basque Country) from 18th-25th August

There are 30 places in total (15 for the Irish group and 15 for the Basque group (boys and girls). You must be aged 15-17 to take part and no previous surf experience is necessary. On the exchange you will learn to surf everyday with professional instructors and you will live and learn about a new culture.

Approximately 60% of the total cost for phase 1 of the exchange programme has been funded by the European Union under the Youth in Action scheme. This means that 40% still needs to be raised. The more creative the fundraising ideas the better so get your thinking caps on!

The aim of the programme is for all participants to go for FREE. To make this happen, we need to raise funds, so if you are an individual/business/organisation that would like to donate to the Cross Culture Surf programme in return for publicity, please contact one of the following:

Cross Culture Surf is a not for profit initiative and all proceeds are invested into the exchange programme.
