Ireland / Basque Country 2012 > Zarautz

Phase 2 of the 2012 exchange took place in Zarautz (Basque Country) over the summer of 2012. The exchange was organised by Joseba Attard, Jono Griffin (The Surf Project) and Zutundu. It was funded by the European Union Youth in Action scheme.

30 young people aged 14-17 (15 Basque and 15 Irish travelled to Zarautz (Basque Country) where they were able to experience Irish culture in a dynamic and fun learning environment. Activities included daily surf lessons with the Axi Muniain Surf Eskola, cultural identity workshops, team building challenges and a whole host of activites and excursions especially designed to promote inter-cultural dialogue and understanding.
